I'm Tilin, Welsh corgi and social networker

Email contact: winecountrydog AT yahoo DOT com
I live in Sonoma County, California, with DJ, my dog-ma; Jack Be Nimble, my Welsh corgi buddy; and Ani, my darling young Siamese, who was rescued through Sonoma County Animal Shelter.
I started blogging while recovering from emergency back surgery, which was a success. I have to howl happily about the fact that diet change and weight loss saved my life. You see, I'm lucky that I was a good candidate for spinal surgery (disc hemilaminectomy and fenestration performed by a top surgeon) at my 10+ years of age.
As a puppy, I got rescued. I was fostered and adopted as a GGPWC puppy at New Year's 1998 after being given up, along with my sister, by a woman with health problems who told Corgi Rescue we were Xmas presents that her daughter in Folsom had pawned her wedding ring to buy for her. This is a true story.
Remembering the way I started out in life always makes me wish a country singer would come along and write a Johnny Cash-style song about me. If you're interested, try a refrain like "we're jes' believin' that sad beginnings can lead to happy endings."
Everyone faces challenging situations. First thing in my life, my right ear tip went missing, but I was too little to remember who bit it off. . . . Then I got taken from me own mum and sold by the Sierra foothills puppy mill where I was born. . . . Till after age three years, I was a jittery mess. . . . I developed epilepsy ("juvenile idiopathic"), which my dog-ma helped me get into remission from. . . . The latest challenge has been a real show-stopper: I lost use of my back legs (and control of bladder and bowels) and had life-saving back surgery in early June 2008.
Woof, I'm doing great. But I can't get around well to do social networking outside, so I'd love to hear from you out there. Please e-bark to me: winecountrydog AT yahoo DOT com. Let's paw over important subjects like nutrition, human bonds and love, pet disabilities, pet orthopedics, help with emergency vet care, support for people who need pet food, and more. . . .
